There are few things better than a late winter session by the lake! Lakeside sessions are some of my favorites, especially during the winter months. The water is so calm and still and the shore is quiet. It really does add so much serenity to photos. I got to meet up with Michelle and Andrew for their maternity photos on a warm winter day at my favorite local lake. The water was blue and gorgeous, and Michelle wore a beautiful striped dress. I’m so thrilled that they chose me as their lakeside Bay Area Maternity Photographer, because this session was a dream!
They brought along their pup to their session, which was such a fun little addition! Their two corgis were so sweet, and I’m so glad that they got to be in some of the photos with their parents. We walked along the shoreline to take photos in my two favorite spots by the lake. We started at the beach area, where we got right by the waters edge. The winter sun had already dipped below the surrounding hills, so we got to photograph in any direction. The ambient light from the setting sun was so perfect for their photos, illuminating everything wonderfully.
Then we headed to a spot with some beautiful, flowy grass. And a few trees that were still by the water. Taking photos in this direction is one of my favorites, and can only be done when the sun is either hiding behind the hills or it’s overcast. I love so many of these gorgeous images from their maternity photography session, they’re so simple yet stunning.
