Let’s take a moment to talk about this sweet little family, and this gorgeous mama. This amazing maternity photo session took place last summer. I was so excited to be able to meet up with this family in the early morning to be able to beat the heat of those hot August summer days. They chose one of my favorite spots in the east bay for their maternity photos.
It was so fun to be able to spend some time there. It really feels nostalgic for me to take photos here, since I grew up actually coming here as a kid. The big difference is that now California is in a drought, so this creek bed is completely dry. When I was a kid it was always flowing without water. I look back fondly on throwing sticks from the bridge into the Rushing River. But now there’s no water in sight. Anyways, more about this sweet family that hired me to take their Walnut Creek maternity photos.
Even though taking photos in a dry Creek bed may seem like a really odd place, I actually really love this spot. With the trees that surround it and the neutral color of the rocks, it really is a perfect complement to photos. I loved that they chose a wardrobe consisting of earthy tones with little hints of autumnal colors in them. Which was the perfect ode of summer ending in the fall beginning.
One of my absolute favorite images from this these maternity photos is of a big brother kissing Mommy’s belly. These moments are so fleeting with little ones during the session. So it’s always so special to be able to capture a sweet little moment. I also really adore the photos I got to take of just Britney alone. There’s something so special about being pregnant, because I feel like pregnant women are extra beautiful. Even if you don’t feel it yourself, know that you most certainly are. I can’t wait to share their sweet newborn session with you soon.
