Sometimes when a session is just so amazing, and I took way too many photos. I blog not one but two posts about it! And this is exactly what I am doing here. In my first post from this session, I told you a little more about the session itself. So now in this post I’ll tell you some more about why I chose the locations I did for these maternity photos.
I adored the images of Jessie and Rob and the blooming Magnolia tree! When I was walking around Filoli before their session began I knew that I wanted to take some photos of them with it. We waited until the end of the session, when the spot was no longer in full-sun. And oh my gosh! These photos are some of my favorites. Especially the double-exposure (which you’ll have to hop onto my other post to see), it just takes my breath away.
Whenever I’ve been here in the past I’ve always loved this little nook with a brick wall, a round window (there’s something so whimsical about round windows!), and climbing vines. So I took them to this spot for some images. These are so fun and I really enjoy the feel and texture that the brick and vines give the images. It’s not typical for me, but I love it!
Finally, we chose a spot with a big olive tree. There is just something about the colors of olive trees that photographer beautifully, and this was no exemption. Plus, Jessie told me that she first fell in love with my work by seeing this Olive grove maternity session. So taking some photos with an olive tree seemed like an ode to that.
