How thrilling is it when you have the sweetest three little boys already, and you’re expecting your first little girl! I was so excited to be hired as this family’s maternity photographer. And newborn photographer too (but more on that one later!). It was just extra special because they really were the sweetest family. I loved getting to know Erin and her husband once they chose me as their Oakland maternity photographer.
We met up at one of my favorite local spots for their session on a sunny morning. I really do love morning photo sessions for so many reasons. But one of them is the beautiful morning light. There really is nothing like it, and let’s be honest. With little kids oftentimes morning is your best bet for great photos and great attitudes. Sometimes as the day wears on those good attitudes and smiles can fade. So I’m never opposed to a morning session.
I really love the location they chose because it is so open and beautiful. There’s still enough trees to provide some good shade coverage from the harsh sun. But the open field is such a gorgeous blank slate for photos. And let’s not forget those quintessential California oak trees in the background.
Erin wore a beautiful, fitted, white dress with pink flowers, since she’s expecting a little girl. She even told me about how she wore the same dress but with blue flowers for his her other maternity photos. How sweet will it be for her to look back on all her maternity photos with her kids wearing the same dress? I really do love that tradition so much! I cannot wait to share their newborn photos with you, we did them outdoors and they really are some of my favorites! Stay tuned to see them in a few weeks.
