There’s something so special about taking newborn photos with your new little babe. Whether you thought of photos and booked a newborn photographer months in advance. Or whether you decided after your baby arrived that you really wanted to capture this sweet time and these moments! That’s why I’m super flexible on when I schedule newborn sessions, I don’t believe they have to be done within a certain range of time. Rather, I schedule them based on how you are feeling and also what works best for you guys. Sure, there’s definitely a range that we try to schedule it in, but it’s not set in stone! I say all this because this sweet little guy was almost a month old at this newborn session. And he was still so little and tiny and oh so perfect. So please don’t hesitate to reach out about last minute sessions, because sometimes I do have openings. Read more below about this session as a San Francisco newborn photographer.
I love sessions in the City, the charm of older houses gets me every time. As a photographer, the fact that older homes and apartments tend to have lots of natural light (bonus), and larger rooms (double bonus) is a big selling point for me. This sweet family wanted to capture some moments together in their SF apartment, where there were huge windows and lots of natural light coming in. Sweet little Milo was oh so perfect just snoozing in bed with his mom and dad. I loved that mama decided to go a little untraditional and wear pants for her session. It’s so fun when people decide to do something that is a little different, especially if it’s fitting to your personality!
We took photos in their bedroom with those gorgeous backlight windows. Something i’m learning to love is shooting backlight with windows. It seems counterintuitive indoors, but I’ve found some tricks to make it work so well and yield beautiful results. But more on that another day. And we also ventured to their living room for somem oh so cozy photos of them all on the couch. It was such a beautiful morning and a perfect newborn session if you ask me! We also snapped some photos of little dude in his crib in his bed. Since they’re living small in SF they don’t have a dedicated nursery room but rather a closet that they converted into the sweetest nursery!
