What a sweet sweet newborn photography session this was, I was so thrilled to be welcomed into this families home to meet their sweet little baby girl. Although the day was dreary and overcast outside, the photos are stunning and so darling. We even took some photos with their sweet little pup. I love it when they join in on family sessions. After all they kind of are the parents first kids, if you know what I mean. Being a bay area newborn photographer is so special to me, because I get to capture such sweet memories for families. Whether it’s your first child or your fifth, bringing home a newborn is so momentous.
I love that mama decided to wear a cozy sweater over her dress for the session. I honestly had never thought of wearing a sweater over a dress for an in-home session, or really any sessions. But I really loved the look of it. I think it actually added a lot to the coziness to the session and made it feel that much more natural and homely. I also love the texture of the knitted cardigan. There’s just something about knits that photograph so well!
Some of my favorite images from this session are a mama standing by the window in baby girls nursery. There’s something so sweet about how she’s looking down at her baby girl, with the window that light coming through. And let’s not forget to talk about all that baby hair. I love seeing how different babies look. And the hair on this little girl was just so sweet, she had so much of it!
At the end of their session we headed outside to take some photos on the lawn by a tree in the backyard that they loved. I really adore these pictures and love that it was something special to have some photos near it.
