On a cozy misty morning in the beginning of January, I traveled across the bay to take these darling newborn photos. It was such a Joy to meet baby Julian and his parents, and be able to take their first family photos together. I absolutely loved getting to be their Bay Area Newborn photographer.
We started the session in their bedroom, where they had the perfect little seating area near a window. It was so fun to play with the backlighting here, and it really worked out well because of how overcast it was that day. We also took some pictures on their bed. I love sessions in older homes because there is ample lighting and windows are usually everywhere! I snapped a few pictures of baby J in his crib in his darling nursery as well. Then we headed to the grand staircase to take some final photos of all of them.
These staircase photos were so fun to take. It’s not every day that you have large wall to ceiling windows right in front of a spiraling staircase. It really was such an amazing setting for these pictures. It was wonderful to get to be creative with posing on the stairs with the windows! Thiis is something that I really love about in-home sessions,they’re all so different and unique. Your home really is the perfect setting for your first family photos, or any type of family photos!
Baby J wore the cutest little knitted blue outfit, complete with a bonnet for some photos. And his mama or a gorgeous white dress. Dad looked great too in his sweater and jeans. These really were such sweet newborn photos to be able to capture!
